After Hours @ TPM

After Hours @ TPM   We welcome a variety of artists who are creating new and exciting work to present on our Cab Stage throughout the season following Mainstage performances. And it’s all happening after hours, which means the bar is open. Crapshoot A division of our Elephants in the Room: New Voices Herd, Crapshoot showcases five-minute performances from artists of all disciplines. Add in new hosts every time and a real-time competition and you’re guaranteed to have a great time. When else have you seen someone win at theatre? You might also catch the next big thing before anyone else does. Sept 16, Dec 9, May 18 @10pm !           Gregori’s Pfantastik Big Time Show!! Dutch Uncle Puppetry presents a variety show like no other. Fed up with his dead end job, Gregori the Grave Digger is leaving the cemetery to host a cabaret with the help of Dutch Uncle Puppetry. Unprepared, undiscovered, and not entirely untalented, join Gregori as he struggles for his big break—with a memorable cast of characters of the real and puppet variety. Comedy, drama, music, and mayhem. Pay What You Can & Judge What You Will. Nov 18, Feb 24, Apr 20 @ 10pm Songbook Series #3:The Beach Boys March 22 @ 8:00pm   The Songbook Series is part of After Hours @ TPM, a new late-night cabaret series to compliment the 2011-12 season at Theatre Passe Muraille. Each evening, we celebrate the work of a single artist, group, era or style that has had a significant impact on our collective musical history. Then we invite a variety of musicians from all disciplines to re-imagine that music in their own way. Re-imagination is key—we are NOT looking for a simple acoustic cover. Our last two events featured the music of Elton John and Madonna. The Songbook Series is led by a group of Core Artists who facilitate and host each evening, but the series celebrates the diversity of musicians and music that is present in our city. In other words, it’s much more than a coffeehouse. Each guest artist will receive a couple of free drinks from the bar, plus many opportunities for self-promotion. Guests are able to sell CDs/merch at our bar, as well as verbally promote upcoming performances onstage. We will also distribute any flyers or other promotional material to all audience members.   Impromptu Splendor The National Theatre of the World presents these spontaneous theatrical marvels on the last Sunday of every month. Their brilliant actors bring fresh, artful and provoking spectacle to life! In the fashion of a cunning one-act play no less! Wow! Every show is an opening night party, not to mention a closing. A new improvised Canadian play every month. They also host an exultation of glamorous, popular and perhaps even famous guest stars……plus there’s a bar and a 98% chance of nudity. Last Sunday of every month @ 9pm
