Check out this blog post from Shira Leuchter & Julie Tepperman, co-creators and performers of  Uninvited, which is currently running in TPM’s Backspace as part of the Bring the Buzz initiative.

Hey Friends of TPM!

Don’t forget, there are only three more opportunities for you to attend our workshop presentation of Uninvited:  this Thurs / Fri / Sat at 7:30pm in the Backspace.  More details HERE.

Did you know?  Today is International Day of the Girl.

The day was established by the UN after a campaign by the US organization School Girls Unite. Their mission is: “To help galvanize worldwide enthusiasm for goals to better girls’ lives, providing an opportunity for them to show leadership and reach their full potential.”  This year’s theme is ending child marriage around the globe (and here’s one way you can help to put an end to the practice).

Also in the news….Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard calls for opposition leader Tony Abbott’s resignation, after he, having his own history of sexist and misogynistic remarks and behaviour, called for the resignation of the speaker of the house, Peter Slipper, who several months ago was accused of sexually harassing a staffer.  Of the sexist text messages Slipper sent to a female staffer, Prime Minister Gillard said:

“I am offended by their content because I am always offended by sexism … I am offended by those things in the same way that I am offended by things that the leader of the opposition (Tony Abbott) has said and no doubt will continue to say in the future.”

Hope to see you at Uninvited!
